Eintracht Frankfurt Women picked up a 5-1 win at home to MSV Duisburg thanks to a Laura Freigang brace and goals from Sara Doorsoun, Lara Prasnikar and Barbara Dunst.
Early lead
Niko Arnautis’ charges dominated from the very first whistle against the team at the foot of the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga, and went ahead in the fifth minute from Doorsoun’s long-range drive. Prasnikar (29’), Freigang (40’) and Dunst (42’) all added to the scoreline to give Eintracht a comfortable 4-0 half-time lead.
Freigang spot on
In the second half, Freigang made it 5-0 with a penalty after Mahmutovic’s foul on Anyomi. MSV also converted from the spot in stoppage time, with Meret Günster netting the visitors’ consolation goal.
Sara Doorsoun, scorer of the opening goal: “Before the game started, I told Nicole Anyomi that I had a feeling I would score today, that the ball would land at my feet and that I would just hit it. And that’s exactly what happened. I’m very happy that I scored more first goal of the season. Right now it’s a lot of fun playing with the team out on the pitch.”
The result means Eintracht climb from ninth to sixth in the table to move within touching distance of the European places
