Aehling, Nachtigall and Wamser to depart Eintracht

Three more players will bid farewell to Eintracht Frankfurt after the final home game of the 2024/25 season on Sunday.

Following the announcement of club captain Tanja Pawollek’s departure on Thursday, it has now been confirmed that three more Eintracht Frankfurt players will leave the club at the end of the season. The contracts of all three players come to an end on 30 June.us.

Anna Aehling joined Eintracht in January 2022 after spending her year abroad at Indiana University in the USA, where she represented the women’s soccer team in the highest college division. Injuries have restricted the 24-year-old full-back to 43 Eintracht appearances in all competitions, including 29 in the Bundesliga, four in the Champions League, four in the DFB Cup and six for the second team in Women’s Bundesliga 2.

Midfielder Sophie Nachtigall started out in the second tier after penning her first Eintracht contract in summer 2022. The 21-year-old, who joined the club from Hamburger SV, scored six goals in 27 appearances for the Under-20s before being handed her first Bundesliga contract in summer 2023. She has made eight further top-flight appearances since her debut on 16 December 2023.

Carlotta Wamser also signed for Eintracht three years ago, joining the club from SGS Essen. The German Under-23 international, who spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at 1. FC Köln, has racked up 55 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals. A striker who has also been used as a full-back of late, Wamser has registered four goals and three assists in 18 outings this season.

Aehling, Nachtigall and Wamser, along with Pawollek, Barbara Dunst and Stina Johannes, will say their goodbyes after the final whistle of the match against Hoffenheim at Stadion am Brentanobad on Sunday 4 May.
