Three Fritz Walter Medal winners

The German Football Association has recognised three male and female footballers from Eintracht: Ansgar Knauff, Jella Veit and Carlotta Wamser.

Twenty-four young men and women have received the highest individual honour in German youth football. And three of them represent Eintracht, with Ansgar Knauff, Carlotta Wamser and Jella Veit following in the footsteps of the likes of Mario Götze, Aymen Barkok and Tanja Pawollek.

As part of the ‘Equal Play’ reform, the DFB decided to award the Fritz Walter Medal to youth players on an equal footing from now on, hence this was the first year that the best U17 and U19 women’s players were also recognised. This is set to continue in future years. Due to the cancellation of last year’s presentation, the 2021 and 2022 awards were combined this year.
