Eintracht Frankfurt Women ended 2021 on a successful note on Sunday, deservedly beating SC Sand 2-0 away from home in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga.
Martinez and Prasnikar on target
Niko Arnautis’ side dominated proceedings and took a deserved lead in the 20th minute through Shekiera Martinez, before Lara Prasnikar’s header from Verena Hanshaw’s corner completed the scoring in the second half.
Fourth in the table
The 2-0 victory means fourth-placed Eintracht remain hot on the heels of the top three as they head into the winter break.
Head coach Niko Arnautis: “We produced a much better performance compared to last week – that was a clear objective of ours. In the first half in particular, we completely dominated the game and created a lot of opportunities. All in all, we deserved the win and we’re heading home with a great feeling. 2021 was a very good year for us, overall. Being close to the top of the table is a great way to end the year.”
The Eagles are due to return to FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga action between 4 and 6 February 2022 with a home game against SC Freiburg. The exact date and kick-off time will be announced in due course.
