Eintracht Frankfurt have been named inaugural social media champions of the Women’s Bundesliga by the International Football Institute (IFI). Eintracht came out on top among the 12 Women’s Bundesliga clubs, who were ranked on scientifically based factors and other key figures. SGE finished ahead of 1. FC Köln and VfL Wolfsburg, who came second and third respectively.
Prof. Dr. Katharina Schöttl, head of the IFI’s digital communications department and in charge of the IFI’s social media league, said: “The league has developed rapidly overall and, in many areas, has already achieved a professional standard on a par with men’s football. Eintracht Frankfurt has succeeded in achieving above-average interaction and growth rates among its already broad fanbase, providing fans with high-quality content at a high frequency.”
