Eintracht sign Erëleta Memeti

Kosovo international moving to Frankfurt from TSG Hoffenheim ahead of next season

Erëleta Memeti will be an Eintracht Frankfurt player as of this summer, with the 25-year-old Kosovo international joining the club from TSG Hoffenheim on a two-year contract that will run through to 30 June 2027.

After four years and 71 appearances in Women’s Bundesliga 2 for VfL Sindelfingen and VfL Wolfsburg II, the 25-year-old moved to SC Freiburg in 2020 for two seasons, before leaving for Hoffenheim, where she has spent the last three years including the current campaign. Memeti has played a total of 100 Bundesliga games for the two clubs, scoring 23 goals, in addition to 10 goals in 16 DFB Cup appearances.

The attacking midfielder progressed through the German youth teams from U16 to U20 level and featured in all three group games at the U20 World Cup in 2018 alongside Laura Freigang, Sophia Kleinherne and Tanja Pawollek. In 2019, Memeti chose to represent the Kosovo national team, which she now captains, and she was also named her country’s women’s footballer of the year two years ago.

The style of play and philosophy of Niko Arnautis’ team are closely in line with my fast and energetic style.

“When you look at the last few seasons, you can clearly see that Eintracht Frankfurt have developed into a top club,” Memeti said. “The style of play and philosophy of Niko Arnautis’ team are closely in line with my fast and energetic style. I’m convinced I can help the team with my qualities. My aim is to be competing at the top of the league with Eintracht in the coming years and to be seriously challenging Wolfsburg and Bayern. I’m really looking forward to being part of this ambitious club from the summer.”

“Look forward to her winning mentality and goal threat”

“Erëleta has been able to gain a lot of experience with 100 Bundesliga games and with the Kosovo national team,” said head coach and sporting director Niko Arnautis. “She’s very quick and agile, a kind of street footballer who can also contribute a lot to our play technically and mentally. You see when she plays that there’s an experienced figure on the pitch, who’s at the best age for a footballer and always wants to spur her team on. On top of that, she’s very versatile in attack. We look forward to having Erëleta’s winning mentality and goal threat in our team from the summer.”
