An MRI has revealed that SGE midfielder Ilayda Acikgöz has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee during a training session. The 19-year-old will be operated on in the coming days and be out of action for the foreseeable future.
Acikgöz, who is an U-20 international, has been part of the Women’s Bundesliga squad since 2022/23 and made 14 top-flight appearances to date. This season, she has played 19 matches in all competitions and scored three goals.
