Laura Freigang has committed her long-term future to Eintracht Frankfurt. The striker, who has won 27 caps for Germany, has extended her contract, which was originally due to run until 2025, until 30 June 2027.
“Frankfurt has become my city”
“Everyone knows the reasons for my contract extension: it’s obvious how much I love the city and the club,” said Freigang. “We still have big ambitions here in Frankfurt and I absolutely want to be part of that and help to shape the era. Frankfurt has just become my city, so I’ll stay for a bit longer.”
Niko Arnautis, Eintracht Women’s sporting director and head coach, added: “Laura came to us in 2018 as a big talent and has now become an established, experienced international player and leader. Laura is a real team player, who’s hardworking, deadly in front of goal and a handful for opponents. She’s vital to our attacking play as a link between the midfield and the attack. It’s not just on the pitch that she’s a hugely important player for us, though. As vice-captain she’s also a mouthpiece for me, she takes on a lot of leadership responsibility on and off the pitch, and she’s a figure who personifies Eintracht Frankfurt with her style of play.”
