Record crowd and a win

Two goals were enough to secure all three points for SGE away to 1. FC Köln in front of a total of 38,365 spectators, setting a new record for the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga.

There was a record crowd at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne to see Eintracht Women pick up another three points, with a total of 38,365 fans on hand to witness the team's 2-0 win away to 1. FC Köln. This was the second time this season that Frankfurt have set an attendance record after 23,200 fans watched the season-opener at the Deutsche Bank Park.

Dunst and Prasnikar on the mark

Eintracht took the lead courtesy of Barbara Dunst (15') with their first real chance of the match, before Lara Prasnikar rounded things off in the 78th minute to make the scoreline a better reflection of the run of play. The win keeps Eintracht Women in third place in the league.

Reaction

Head coach Niko Arnautis: “First of all, congratulations to 1. FC Köln for the incredible attendance today. It was great, what they’ve managed to achieve and we’re delighted to have been part of it. It was really fun, playing here. At the end of the day, we had to show some real passion against a good Köln team who were dangerous in their attacking third, but in my eyes, we were good value for the win. I’m so incredibly proud of my team who played in front of a packed house and came away with what they deserved.”

Goalscorer Barbara Dunst: “The fans today were incredible and it’s what you want to see – it’s what we’ve been striving for, for years now. I had goosebumps when we walked out. It was a hard-fought win and it was good to get the second goal to seal the deal, otherwise it could have got tight towards the end.”
