It was a successful dress rehearsal for Eintracht Women against SC Heerenveen on Sunday. Niko Arnautis’ side took control from the off against the Dutch top-flight outfit and although they found chances hard to come by at times, they ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in the end thanks to a brace from Shekiera Martinez (8’, 80’) plus goals from Camilla Küver (57’) and Ilayda Acikgöz (90’).
“Geared up for the start of the season”
“Overall we can be very pleased with pre-season,” said Arnautis. “Today we showed against international opposition that we can last the pace over 90 minutes. We scored some nice goals and deserved to win. We’re geared up for the start of the season against Sand and looking forward to it.”
The Eagles begin the 2021/22 FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga season on Sunday 29 August (kick-off 13:00 CEST) with a home match against SC Sand.
