With two weeks remaining until league action resumes, Eintracht Frankfurt Women faced VfL Wolfsburg Women in a fast-paced, intensive friendly fixture. Eintracht put in a strong first-half display and went toe-to-toe with last season’s league runners-up after the interval too, eventually emerging with a deserved 2-1 win from their fourth mid-season friendly.
Doorsoun proud
After the final whistle, new signing Sara Doorsoun said: “I’m unbelievably proud of the team. It was only a friendly but we showed that when we play with desire, fighting spirit and a willingness to win every tackle, that a team like Wolfsburg have a tough time beating Eintracht. We weren’t intimidated and we implemented our own game throughout the 90 minutes. That’s exactly what we need to do in the league now.”
