Ahead of the second leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, head coach Niko Arnautis rotated his team and made seven changes. In front of a crowd of 3,005 at the Stadion am Brentanobad, the new-look starting line-up missed the chance to take an early lead after five minutes with Hayley Raso’s shot from close range.
Lapassouse strikes for visitors
Nürnberg grew into the game after that and took the lead shortly after the half-hour mark. The Eintracht defence failed to properly clear the ball and Louna Lapassouse took advantage to make it 1-0 to the visitors.
Mühlhaus off injured
Arnautis reacted at half-time with a double substitution, bringing on Larissa Mühlhaus and Ereleta Memeti in place of Raso and Hanna Bennison. However, Mühlhaus had to be taken off shortly after her introduction, with Rebecka Blomqvist replacing her.
Late leveller
The Eagles increased the pressure on Nürnberg but were grateful that Lina Altenburg prevented them from falling 2-0 behind in the 66th minute, saving well from Nastassja Lein. Twenty minutes later, Memeti pulled the ball back to Danique Tolhoek in the penalty area and the summer signing scored the late but deserved equaliser.
